A feature to change product title to English has been released on February 20th, 2025 (JST).
In order to generate Japan Post Labels, the information must be filled out in English. However, stores would also have Japanese product titles which would cause an error when generating a label.
To prevent this from happening, we have introduced this new feature which will automatically use the English set in the product localization.
How to use the feature:
- Add English (or any other language you would like on the label) as one of your published languages.
Adding a language will automatically install the "Translate & adapt" app if the store has never installed the app. - Add English (or any other language) product titles with the localization feature on each product.
- After the translations are added, orders using a different language will automatically translate to English and the user can also choose what language the product title is (mainly for confirmation).

Additionally, Shopify's Translate & Adapt app has the ability to translate all store information for up to 2 selected languages of choice.
This can be done by clicking the "Translate" button on Shopify language settings an then clicking on "Translate & Adapt", and lastly clicking the "Auto-translate" button as shown in the image below.
Creating labels
Creating an order with the product made in adding translations on products, allows for easyLabel to display the Language selection UI and will automatically update the product title to English even if it was created in any other language.
Click the "Locale*" dropdown to choose other languages to choose from.
Note that other languages will not be able to generate labels, they are to confirm what the product titles are in other languages.
